So my mom and I were hanging out at The Garden on Friday for the New York Liberty vs. Detroit Shock game. My mom is a big fan of the WNBA, I am too, but not as hooked. I watch all sports, however my brain can’t keep track of it all. But some folks are REALLY wired for sports (friends Fresh, and Phever are prime examples), remembering teams played for, stats, coaches, trades; etc (probably shoes sizes too lol). It truly amazes me.
But anyway, my mom said we were close to the court, which is fine, but when we got there, the usher led us down to the frickin’ second row!! I’m looking at my mother like YOU LIAR LOL!!!! Now I’ve been to MSG on numerous occasions but never, ever, ever that close! We had a great time, and we’re going to another game next week, NY vs. the L.A Sparks!! Two words for the fellas (and some of you ladies): Candace Parker.
R.I.P Michael Jackson (1958-2009). I’m in shock, but I guess it was a matter of time. However, like Obama’s presidency, Michael Jackson’s death is something I could not have pictured in my lifetime. We all grew up listening to his music, I was am a fan, the music made us feel good, it inspired us, we moonwalked, some tried, we knew his songs word for word, we had his movie “Moonwalker” (Which I watched almost every day!!!), we recited his songs together, we had zippered leather jackets like him, he even made penny loafers “cool” at one point.
I guess his time came, and we know he’s in a better place. Break out your iPods, launch iTunes, Windows Media Player; etc and play some of those hit records! What’s your favorite song?? Leave a comment.
REST IN PEACE MIKE!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER PERSON LIKE YOU.
AN INSPIRATION TO MY GENERATION YOU WERE.

As they celebrate June as being Men’s Month, the ladies of Struggles Corp have recognized me as one of the black father’s doing their thang! Click on the pic below for a link to the blog post.
Thanks STRUGGLES!! The recognition is greatly appreciated. I STRONGLY believe that a man should and must take care of his child(ren) regardless of what the situation may be, the responsibility is simple.
So I got word today that the band that I’ve been shooting for a while, Chasing Daybreak, has an article featured in 994 Magazine. But the even better news (for me), is that my name appears in the photography credit. SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!
Click on the image to take you to the article if you want to read it. I told you all I was going hard, and I’m still steppin’ it up!

A few photos on Flickr can be see here as well.
Thanks for sharing Melinda. The idea of a shoot like this would be fantastic. Now to find the girl/woman to pull it off!!!

I must be, No, scratch that, WE must be doing big things!! I just found out from the Nevaeh Jeans Co fellas that one of the ladies from this past Saturday’s photo shoot was Ms. New Jersey USA 2009. Her name…Ms. Kaity Rodriguez and she is also the Founder and President of R.O.S.E.S (Reaching Out Supporting Every Sister).
