Nevaeh In November
Those Nevaeh boys and I linked up for an unusual nighttime shoot in Brooklyn on Friday that started around 10pm and ended around 2:30/3:00am. Models, friends, and supporters came through, and you would have almost started to think that the shoot was going to turn into a party! Good people, good music, good times, good photos. Thanks to all that came out!!

Upcoming…
Nevaeh Jeans Company say they have some HEAT! Well I want to see it! We are teaming up this Friday, November 6th in Brooklyn for what I hope to be another successful shoot. The Redemption shoot that took place in June 2009 was a hit, so now they have no choice but to outdo themselves…lol. My impression of these guys has definitely gone up…they have stepped up their game in many many ways and I commend them for it.
You can check out their blog and find them on Twitter. Let’s get it!!
Who’s That?
She is Lexi Ritsch, a New Yorker who resides in the East Village, a videographer, and a co-host for the new CollegeHumor show Crucial Man.
I teamed up once again with friend & 9-5 colleague Melinda Martinez to produce some outstanding casual/press photos! The shoot was held at her residence on Saturday afternoon, and all went smoothly with a great outcome. Here are some photos…enjoy!
You can see more of Lexi here.
Shooting with Christine Juarbe (Part II)
As promised…PHOTOS! Clicking any of them should take you to the Flickr slideshow, showing all of the photos taken on Sunday. Once again, it was a great shoot! Enjoy!
Also, there will be a PART III which will be official photoshoot footage of the afternoon. Stay tuned for that. I’ve already seen a rough edit, and was totally geeked about it!
Shooting with Christine Juarbe (Part I)
Here’s some time lapse footage taken with my Canon point & shoot of some of the preparation that went into today’s shoot. My friend and colleague Melinda Martinez and I were at it again for another collaboration, along with videographer Lexi, and the gorgeous model Christina Juarbe. Enjoy this brief video, photos will come later, I promise.
Some Inspiration
So I decided to take out some of the gear today, it’s been a while. Over the weekend, I was inspired by a photo on the website for Maxwell (an R&B, neo-soul artist), and decided to create my own little version. I call it “My Escape.”
A Love for Black & Whites
So there was no sign of the homeless man today outside of my office building. However, I did manage to take a photo today (credit: the iPhone). Just casually walking down West 17th in from 6th avenue, I saw this classic limo parked almost perfectly in the middle of two buildings…no time to reach for the point & shoot, so I lined up the iPhone and here you have it (after a b&w high contrast conversion in Lightroom).
You would think that I’d start walking around with my 30D!! By the way, can anyone identify the vehicle make/model/year please?
UPDATE 9.24.09: My boss has identified the vehicle as a Daimler DS420. Thank you!
(Yes folks, that’s what I said, my boss
)
Street Life
Standing outside the j.o.b killing some time – saw this image, and took the shot! (taken with my iPhone and later converted to black & white). Something you don’t see often. With his out in the open choice of seating, crowds parted ways to avoid him. But this one man, stopped, engaged in conversation, shook the guy’s hand and generously gave him $5 or $10.
The Streets Need Music
Like I said before, I support positive things that friends of mine are doing. Here’s new music from PremeDaPrez, The Streets Need Music mixtape, Hosted by DJ Magic.
Sneaker Heaven for Sneaker Geeks!!
As we all were roaming the streets of SOHO, we passed this store which had a ton of classic Nike Air Jordans, and Air Max’s in the display window. We decided to go in…and I swear as we opened the door, we heard (or maybe just me), heavenly music playing, with harps and all!
I’m sure sneaker heads know about Global Sports US, but I’m not a sneaker head, friends like Fashion Hurtz, and DJ Skinny are sneaker heads, so this place is for them! But I surely was in awe (Air Jordan IV’s and others), and wished my pockets had paper instead of change…lol.
Location: 129 GRAND STREET, NEW YORK, NY, right next door to the Laicale Salon.

Kehinde Wiley – Black Light
My long time friend D. Williams and I decided to check out artwork from Kehinde Wiley at 76 Grand Street, NYC. The gallery is part of the Deitch Projects. It was a small installation with about 16 pieces on display, but they are very interesting. Here’s a excerpt from the project:
“Deitch Projects is pleased to present Black Light, an exhibition of photographs by Kehinde Wiley that thrusts the black male image, captured by means of light manipulation and digital technology, into focus. This shuffle of Wiley’s artistic process reveals an integral component of his studio practice rarely seen while remaining, uniquely, Kehinde Wiley portraiture…(read on)“
Sharing
My friend Terri ANN, shared an interesting link with me today from photographer Jan von Holleben. Check out his work and projects on his site. I’ve been slacking with my own photography, but I’m always inspired by day-to-day life, and viewing works from others. Thanks Terri!
Raekwon on the EMI/Capitol Records Rooftop, NYC
So apparently, Raekwon was in the building the other day! I couldn’t stick around for it, daddy duty called, but I heard he rocked it, performing tracks from OB4CL1 and OB4CL2! Also to mention, it was the FIRST, I repeat FIRST hip-hop event on the rooftop EVER! (I wonder if anyone was scared…lmfao!). Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 (Sept 8, 2009)
